An ONGOING EVENT (ended with COVID-19!) For the last 23 YEARS ± I have been holding down the regular 'house gig' at the Aspen Skiing CO's 'Lynn Brit Cabin' winter dinner tours 2–5 nights a week. This year, as I have been traveling, I will be in Aspen Dec 12, 2018-Jan 5, 2019, then back Feb 14, 2019-March 14, 2019. All other current events are listed on the booking page.....
It all started back east in 1958… CT, where I grew up, kinda. My first band Hat Trick that I was in has now become an 'OLD HAT' !!. In 1981, I first came to the Aspen Valley. It was fall and beyond beautiful, with crazy yellow leaves everywhere and fresh snow on the peaks. Uh… Love at first sight! Growing up skiing, it was easy to love the Roaring Fork Valley and call this home.
I started playing the banjo first when I was 15 years old. The movie Deliverance turned me to the rippin bluegrass picking of Earl Scruggs, later, I started on the guitar when I was about 18 thanks to my good friend Smitty… And on from there… okay, no need to talk about me growing up; here's the skinny on music.
So guitar, banjo. Harmonica and singing and a 'loud foot' are the main focus but love to tinker ......like washtub bass and spoons. Go figure.

The Aspen Valley has given me some FANTASTIC opportunities (as some pics show) due to this great location to either play with or play for some of my heroes for sure. Over the years, I played most of the clubs and hotels in town, including the Hotel Jerome, The Little Nell, The St. Regis, and The Ritz-Carlton, as well as many events for the ASPEN SKIING COMPANY. Also enjoyed traveling the country from Sante Fe to Atlanta to wherever… you get it, I am open for doing private and/or corporate events either solo or duo on up to full band… Anywhere.
In 1989, I began teaching skiing for the Aspen Skiing Company. 35 years. I am PSIA Level III 'full cert in Alpine and can teach ALL levels. I am also PSIA certified in adaptive 2, to which 17 years has been the majority of my work.
That time has been spent working with kids and/or adults who may be autistic, have spinal cord injuries, CP, have no sight etc. A HUGE part of my life has been involved with Challenge Aspen, which has been the non-profit adaptive 'arm' of the Aspen Skiing Co.
